The Project:

Mesa Unified School District was in need of a bus lane skirting the perimeter of their S.H.A.R.P. Focus School with access to both Adobe Street and Sun Valley Boulevard. With existing utilities playing a factor in the design, Mesa USD needed an experienced asphalt contractor with new construction experience to help engineer the project.

The Ace Solution:

We rough graded and exported over 5,500 cubic yards of dirt to create storm water retention areas that would allow adequate flow off the asphalt surface of the bus lane. We also reengineered utility trenches to accommodate existing utility lines. The bus lane required the grading and subgrade preparation of 6,067 sq. ft. for placement and compaction of 6-inch deep aggregate base course and 3-inch deep asphalt surfacing on top. We also poured over 3,110 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter as well as 100 square feet of sidewalk.
